About Superintendent Tyler Graff

  • Dr. Tyler GraffDr. Tyler Graff brings nearly two decades of educational experience to his role as Superintendent of Ross Valley School District. His journey in education began as an elementary teacher in the Cambrian School District, where he taught 2nd, 3rd, and 5th grades.

    After his time as a classroom teacher, Dr.Graff  was named principal at Stevenson Elementary in the Mountain View Whisman school district, a school that fostered meaningful parent participation, project-based learning, and integrated arts programming. He then transitioned to principal of Claire Lilienthal K-8, one of the top public schools in San Francisco Unified School District that included a diverse student body and Korean immersion program.  

    Most recently, Dr. Graff served as the Executive Director of Secondary Education at San Rafael City Schools, where he oversaw and supported middle and high schools. In this capacity, he demonstrated a drive for improving systems and championed initiatives that advanced equity  across the district. These experiences have shaped Dr. Graff’s core values of equity, excellence, and joy, and he is eager to use these values in leading RVSD into the future.   

    Dr. Graff holds a Bachelor’s degree from Chico State, a Master’s in School Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a Doctor of Education from UC Berkeley’s LEAD Ed.D. program. He lives in San Francisco with his wife Emilie and husky Randy. When he’s not working, he enjoys reading, fly-fishing, mountain biking, and trail running.
