A Message from the Principal
Dear Wade Thomas families,
Congratulations to all our actors, tech crew, and parent volunteers for the wonderful production of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! It was so much fun seeing our fellow mustangs perform! Thank you to YES for providing this program.
Parent Equity Team
As part of RVSD's ongoing work on equity, we are holding a Parent Equity Team meeting on Wednesday, March 11.. We are looking forward to creating a space for parents and guardians to engage in conversation about their experiences as members of the RVSD community and would love you to join us to help us determine how we can collectively create a greater sense of belonging and inclusivity for all our valued families. Click here for more information (Spanish version).
Read Across America Week!
Every year, on or near March 2 - the day Theodor Geisel, aka Dr. Seuss was born - schools celebrate Read Across America. Dr. Seuss is best known for authoring over 60 children’s books. We have selected "Celebrating Differences" as our theme for the week which we will be exploring through literature throughout the week.
Coronavirus
Everywhere we turn, there is news of the Coronavirus! Though it is not to be taken lightly, the present risk is considered low. There have been very few cases of the illness in children and it has generally been mild when contracted by children. We encourage all students, parents, and staff to take common-sense precautions to prevent the spread of all infectious diseases, including common illnesses like colds and flu as well as the Coronavirus. This includes frequent hand washing, covering coughs and sneezes, and staying home if sick. We are currently taking extra measures in cleaning classrooms and bathrooms and believe it safe for children to come to school at present.
School Tours
Do you know anyone interested in finding out about Wade Thomas as a possible school choice for their children? We are happy to show them around and provide information about our curriculum and programs. Tours are held monthly in the spring; the next school tour is scheduled for March 18. Click here to sign up or call Marlana Kenilvort, Administrative Assistant at 415-454-4603,
Registration for the 2020-2021 School Year
Registration is now open for incoming Kindergarten and new students. All registrations (including siblings of current Wade Thomas students) are date and time stamped and this order determines placement at the school of residence if the number of registered students is beyond our capacity. Students currently attending RVSD Transitional Kindergarten do not need to register. To assist parents who might find it easier to complete in-person registration in the evening, the District Office (located at 110 Shaw Drive, San Anselmo; 415-451-4064) will be open from 6:00-8:00pm on Tuesday, March 31 and Tuesday, April 28, 2020 to accept new student registrations for all District schoolsWarm regards,
Donna

Dear Families,
We hope you had a great February break! For the next few weeks, we are exploring energy, and how it’s related to climate change. Energy is neither created nor destroyed, but how we use it matters. You also can use your own energy in different ways, like putting energy into helping the Earth. We’re thinking about where electricity comes from, and how fossil fuels were created and used. A few quick thoughts about easy ways to conserve energy: turn off the lights in rooms you’re not using, take shorter showers (it’s not impossible!), power off appliances you’re not using, learn more about petroleum (which we are digging even deeper into the Earth to find). The Earth needs our help, so let’s make change!
And...this week we are doing energy audits of what’s happening in our homes and living spaces. How many electronic devices are running in your house each day? How do you think this has changed over the last 20 or 50 years?
TIP OF THE WEEK:
Remove labels from jars:
* 1 tsp oil
* 1 tsp baking soda
* spread on label
* wait 2 hrs
* rinse
* et Voila!
